Claytor Lake State Park offers swimming, hiking, horseback riding, boating, camping, cabins and a lot of other activities
Gatewood Reservoir, a 162-acre lake offering a number of outdoor activities including camping, boating, hiking and picnicking

The New River offers multiple recreation opportunities including world class small-mouth bass and muskie fishing.
