The New River Valley Airport is owned and operated by the New River Valley Airport Commission, comprised of the following localities:

  • Pulaski County
  • Montgomery County
  • Giles County
  • City of Radford
  • Town of Dublin
  • Town of Pulaski
  • Town of Christiansburg



Located in the heart of Southwest Virginia, the airport is situated close to Virginia Tech, Radford University, and New River Community College.

Area Attractions Include:

Randolph Park, near the Dublin I-81 exit, has swimming, walking and many other recreational opportunities.

Historic Calfee Baseball Park in Pulaski is home to the Pulaski Yankees and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places

The Motor Mile Speedway and Dragway is located between Dublin and Radford on US Route 11

The New River Valley Fairgrounds hosts a number of events including horse shows, flea markets and an annual fair

Claytor Lake State Park offers swimming, hiking, horseback riding, boating, camping, cabins and a lot of other activities

Gatewood Reservoir, a 162-acre lake offering a number of outdoor activities including camping, boating, hiking and picnicking

The region hosts multiple locations for access to the Appalachian Trail.  In addition, the scenic New River winds through our region.  The New River offers multiple recreation opportunities including world class small-mouth bass and muskie fishing.
